School of Rock

Do you remember the movie School of Rock starring Jack Black? One of my husband’s classmates from high school was in that movie. Anyway, did you know that School of Rock is a real school? They have locations all across the the US and select locations in Mexico and right now they are offering kids a FREE week to rock, from now until October 31st.

School of Rock is the national leader in music education. They have been teaching kids ages 7-18, lessons in guitar, bass, vocals, drums and keyboards for more than ten years. Prior experience in music is not required for children to be students at the School of Rock. The teachers there know, that the best way to learn is by getting in there and doing it. With the free week, your child will get one 30-45 minute private trial lesson and one 90 minute Rock 101 group class. To redeem, just call 866.371.0557 and use the code SORBLOG or fill out the online form and enter the code SORBLOG in the questions/comments area and the school will contact you. The free week must be completed by October 31, 2010 and is only available at participating locations and based on scheduling and availability. Don’t forget, you must mention the code when you contact the school near you in order to get the free week. Check out School of Rock on Facebook and Twitter.

  1. There is, indeed, a real School of Rock. In the Twin Cities of Minneapolis/St. Paul we are getting ready to open our third location in Burnsville. We have one in St. Paul and one in Eden Prairie.

In fact, our kids got to open for national act, Steel Heart, when they came through town last week.

Check out the youtube video of their performance at
